Poco Mexico, nestled in the heart of Fort Davis, Texas, is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic Mexican cuisine. This charming restaurant has garnered rave reviews for its flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere. Diners like Lucas Pierce rave about the perfection of their Chile Rellenos, made with Anaheim peppers, alongside outstanding refried beans and perfectly cooked rice. This sentiment is echoed by other patrons, who appreciate the balance of textures in dishes like the soft shell tacos, which Bill E Rubin describes as reminiscent of a delightful strawberry rhubarb pie. Families also find joy at Poco Mexico, as showcased by Brady Olsen’s experience; the restaurant’s staff is attentive and accommodating, providing complimentary rice and beans for fussy toddlers. With reasonably priced entrees—such as the savory beef or chicken fajita plates and the hearty tamale and taco options—Poco Mexico offers both value and satisfaction. Cullen Ryan highlights the affordability, stating that a family of four can dine comfortably for $30, an astounding deal for the quality provided. Wretha S notes that this restaurant feels like a well-kept secret, compelling guests to arrive early to avoid the lunch rush. With all these attributes combined, Poco Mexico stands out as a must-visit for anyone passing through, promising a delightful culinary experience that is sure to linger in your memory long after the meal is over. Just remember to bring cash, as they do not accept cards!

Authentic, old-school Mexican Food perfection. The Chile Rellenos are made with Aneheim peppers, the way they should be, the rice is perfect, and the Refried Beans are outstanding. I cannot recommend it enough. You should go while you still can, because places this good don't stick around forever!

Recommend by 25 year employee at UT McDonald Observatory. Excellent soft shell taco dinner. Taco had one side crisp and the other side moist, kinda like strawberry rhubarb pie you have the best of both. Friendly employees.

We ate our dinner at the fancier bar and grill right next to our hotel due to convenience, then we ate here the next day for lunch. I wish we would have come here for both meals! It was delicious, cheap, and staff was extremely nice and helpful! When our toddler was getting feisty when we first sat down they just brought a small tray of rice and beans for her. 10/10 would go here if you’re going through town, low prices, great staff, and the beef fajitas were amazing.

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. You can get a hamburger for 5. Everything tasted great and a family of 4 was full and happy for 30. Cash only, so plan ahead.

There aren't a lot of choices so we picked this. We arrived before it opened and as soon as it did, it was packed. Cash only, good wasn't bad.

Food was excellent with great prices. The lady that took our order was very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place. I order the enchi burrito. It was amazing. The beef was spiced to perfection and the sauce that came with it was very good. Just a word of caution, it was a little on the hot side which I loved.
